Setsubun (節分, “seasonal division”) is a festival usually held on February 2, 3 or 4, one day before the start of spring according to the Japanese lunar calendar. Hinamatsuri, also called Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day, is a special day in Japan. usually celebrated on 3 March of each year, platforms covered with a red carpet-material are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period.
